Sweeping Machine Operator & Industrial Cleaner
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional cleaner who can also operate heavy duty cleaning machinery to join our well-established, family-owned business.
We specialise in machine power sweeping/scrubbing, car park and warehouse cleaning, construction and new build cleaning, and cool room cleaning.
We are looking for a candidate who wants to be with the business long term, and who wants to contribute to the success of this business. This will be highly valued.
Key responsibilities:
- Operation of power sweeping and scrubbing machines
- Heavy Towing of 3.5-ton machine with a Ute and trailer (provided)
- General maintenance and cleaning of machinery
- Pressure washing of industrial spaces including cold storage rooms
- Manual cleaning of newly built industrial premises before handover to owner including basic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming and wiping
- Ensure vehicles are fully prepared and stocked with chemicals, cleaning tools and kit ahead of scheduled jobs from head office warehouse
- Working with chemicals and following required safety instructions
- General reporting on each job including any discrepancies with the original scope of work, including note taking, photo documenting and prepare defect lists where appropriate
- Be confident and professional in communication via phone and email towards clients and other staff. The successful application will be in direct contact with our clients and suppliers, it is expected that you will represent the company accordingly
- Regular use of the company rostering app to communicate back to the head office regard job start, completion and general notes

- Flexible with working hours, some of our client require work outside 9am-5pm
- Confident working autonomously

- Knowledge of basic mechanics – this may be as simple as knowing where a mechanical problem as occurred, not necessarily knowing how to fix it
- Comfortable towing a large trailer (3.5tons)
- Detail orientated, this is particularly important for our clients who expect a high standard of work from us
- Quick and efficient with your time
- Confident on construction sites
- Savvy and logical with good common sense
- Ability to think on your feet
- Happy speaking to everyone from clients to suppliers, to head office staff
- Happy to recommend efficiencies or changes that may benefit the business

Requirements:
- Drivers Licence is a must
- Rights to work in Australia is a must
- COVID-19 vaccinations are up to date
Other:
- Initial casual probation period with full time hours, with a view to moving to a full-time position
- Head office in Epping location, but jobs to be completed all over Melbourne
- Construction Induction Card (white card) is preferred but not necessary
- EWP (yellow card) is preferred but not necessary
- Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen as well as a driving history check
